The food was AMAZING! It was the last night of extended Savor Sarasota. I have to be honest, most other participants have left of wanting. Not this place! Every dish, from the cocktails, to the escargot, octopus, scallops and dessert left us STUFFED! The dishes were balanced, flavorful and beautiful. Well presented, well timed and delicious. We will be back! Excellent value!

I would say this is the best local restaurant we’ve been to in a very long time. Everything was absolutely amazing, including our server, Matthew. We had gazpacho and grilled octopus for our appetizers. I got a gnocchi dish with lobster, tomato and artichokes, and my husband got the sea bass with butternut ravioli. We got the poached pear for dessert and it was the perfect ending. We will definitely be back! 10/10.

This is the best restaurant I have been to since moving here from Philly area 10 years ago. Very well made cocktails and good quality wines with a varied selection reasonably priced.All the dishes we had were very inventive and carefully prepared. The service was excellent as well. The rabbit in pastry top, branzino with lobster bits, seabass with vegtable ravioli just to name a few. The cauliflower app was great and a good portion. Their prices are low when you consider the quslity..Amazing restaurant.

We thought it was fabulous the first time. Escargot was super, and the service was charming. Could not wait to go back. The second time seemed like a different place with a completely different tone.

For the 2nd year in a row, our office had our holiday party at Marcel DW. The food, service, timing, and ambiance were all outstanding. We were a group of 20, and to a person everyone said how much they enjoyed the evening. The owner, Jeremy, and his staff did a terrific job. We will be back!!

Excellence - hands down! I had the most amazing slow-cooked beef bourguignon with mushrooms, carrots on an incredible reduction sauce over mashed potatoes. Wow. I am completely unaware of how it could be improved upon. My wife had sea diver scallops, pan-seared with a mushroom reduction sauce, once again, epic. Oh - and great menu advice from our server Scott and super music selection too 😁

As I understand it, Marcel is a new addition to the dining scene here in downtown Sarasota. Coming from Europe, we wanted a laid back vibe, with thoughtfully crafted food and a wine list that went beyond North America. We had high expectations…and, let me say, they were exceeded. If you have the chance to dine at this exceedingly amazing restaurant - do it. Do not hesitate! You will not be disappointed!!🤩

Wow! What a treat! Friends brought us here on a Thursday night. I had called the day before to check on some dietary restrictions, and the chef assured me I’d be all good. That’s because they make everything to order, just like in Europe.As promised, Chef Jeremy was able to make pretty much anything I wanted tailored to my needs.I started with the sea bass ceviche (daily special) that was the best ceviche I’d ever had – light, flavorful, with just a hint of sweetness. My dining companions said the plantains served with it were amazing. They also had the toasted romaine salad (daily special) and roasted mushrooms, which they loved.I then had the sea scallops done specially for me – the scallops were huge and everything on the plate melted in my mouth. My companions had lamb and sea bass – and no one had a single morsel of food left on their plate! They were nearly clean enough to back on the shelf. 😊After a meal like this, we couldn’t bear not to try desert. So I had the poached pear, and they had the banana bread pudding tart (yes, lit it on fire when serving), and cherry cobbler with caramel ice cream. Every bite was savored and gone.There probably is not a better restaurant in Sarasota. And it’s not just the food that makes this place special – our server Chris was funny, attentive, and followed our meal pace. Chef Jeremy made himself available for questions.To top it off, the prices are reasonable – making the whole experience feel even more value-laden. My mouth is watering just writing this post.If this restaurant were close to where I live, I’d eat there every week!Afterwards, Chris took us next door to their speakeasy, which I’ll review separately.Don’t miss this gem!

The best meal I have had in a long time. The presentation superb, and the food out of this world. We now have a new favorite restaurant.

Was in Sarasota with my hubby for another weekend...if you want quieter and a bit more romantic with excellent food and super cheery and lovely wait staff than this is your place. We are SUPER picky about food quality as we have a home in Europe and have eaten everywhere. We were delighted to find this gem. And please order the chocolate galette for dessert....best one I have had anywhere!

This place was amazing! My party all did the summer deal that was $45 for an appetizer, entree, and dessert. All were big portions and delicious! The ambience was amazing and drinks were fantastic! I would recommend the Mortadella Toast and Steak Frites! Definitely will be returning soon.

We came here for the Savor Sarasota menu -- which was great because we had access to the whole menu and the daily specials. You can't beat the value, and, more importantly, the good was great. I highly recommend the rack of lamb and scallop courses. We will definitely be back.

Wife and I went to restaurant for Savor Sarasota special which lets you pick any appetizers or entree off the menu plus choice of dessert. Very good value as it was $45 and some entrees are in the $30s and some apps above $15. Highly recommend the grilled octopus appetizer. Service was good. Overall a recommend.

A Fabulous Dining ExperienceFrom start to finish, our experience was exceptional. The food was absolutely incredible—every dish was beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. The highlight of the night was the pistachio-crusted crème brûlée, which was nothing short of divine. Our waiter, Chris, added to the evening with his fun and engaging personality, making us feel right at home. And to top it all off, we had the pleasure of meeting the chef-owner, Jeremy Duclut, a winner of Top Chef Season Three. Truly a memorable night!

Our first time here and very pleased. The chef/owner hails from Burgundy France and his cooking is the real thing. So much flavor and service was attentive but not hurriedThe owner came by to introduce himself and ask how we liked our food.Would definitely visit again

Went here with a good friend the other night and literally everything we ordered tasted absolutely spectacular!! Simple menu but wonderful taste and I ate way too much but only because everything was so flavorful! Chef Jeremy Duclut is the best Chef I have ever had the pleasure of knowing! Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself how awesome Marcel's food really is! Also didn't take the picture in time but the Banana Bread Pudding is served with a flame!

Went for dinner last night. Everything we ordered( ceviche, fuagra, filet mignon, lamb chops, fish, cucumber gazpacho were delicious and had a different and very unique taste than in other restaurants we went before. Service was a bit slow, but it was busy and we didn't mind just sitting and digesting our appetizers before the main course. Our son tried French beer for the first time and he really liked it. I had a glass of French white wine($15!!!) and my husband had red wine and a dirty martini ( tasty but overpriced). We definitely will be back to try other dishes. The sheff came out to ask us how we liked the food, it was very nice of him and we were treated with some after meal drinks. Also we found out about the "secret" bar next door we went after dinner and had more delicious cocktails and dessert. Two great places one owner!

We think Marcel is one of Sarasota’s best restaurants . Consistently great menu selections at reasonable prices. We took new friends for dinner recently and they were complementary on the food quality and wine parings.

Delicious food loved the small plates of string beans and mushrooms. Owner is very personal. Loved the banana bread pudding which was flambé at table. Service was inattentive. Would definitely return

The food is AMAZING! Everything I had was seasoned perfectly. The dishes were unique and exquisite. The gazpacho tasted like summer and the beef bourgignon was delicious. The dishes were plated with artistry, everything was beautiful. Chef Jeremy made each dish with care. Save room for the pistachio creme brûlée!

Our 1st venture to Marcel DW and it was delightful. We arrived to a waiting table & our waitress brought us cocktails, Sir Sazerac, & let us relax & take in the atmosphere & music. We ordered seafood bolognaise & sea scallops, both were expertly cooked & presented. They were both spectacular! The mindful talented blend of ingredients melded perfectly. Quite an experience. We finished with a Bin27 port & chocolate ganache tartette. Absolute perfection. Looking forward to bringing all of our friends to this gem.

All I can say is wow… the food was amazing and service very personalized. We tried it based on other reviews and it did not disappoint. We are foodies and this is a hidden gem in Sarasota. Don’t miss it!

Truly a hidden gem that deserves more attention. Been there twice and both times it was outstanding. I don’t usually like green beans but theirs are addictive. Mortadella toast was simple but spectacular. Wine list is focused, but also broad enough to be interesting. The owner / chef will come out and offer additional guidance on the wine as well. Prices are also embarrassingly reasonable.

Incredible restaurant! We got the cauliflower appetizer, and I got the chicken paillard entree. The appetizer was delicious, and the chicken was so flavorful that I loved it. The banana fashioned was amazing. Overall, it's a great place! Ask for Reilly!

Our company dined as a group this evening and had a great experience. Food was delicious. Had to flag our server a time or two but nothing to ruin the overall experience and it was clear the whole establishment were busy and hustling to serve their customers, including the chef/owner. Appreciate these kinds of establishments that are all hands on deck. Make this a stop on your Sarasota agenda!

This was our first time dining here after a friend went twice and couldn’t say enough good things about Marcel’s. We loved it. The food, service, and ambiance were all fantastic. We especially loved meeting and chatting with Jeremy, the owner and chef. It makes a difference to get to know someone personally when there are so many great restaurants in Sarasota this really adds a special touch. My husband had the beef bourginon and I had the seafood pasta. Both were delicious and a nice size portion. We started with the gazpacho which was just outstanding too. We loved the at they have creative mocktails as we are not big drinkers. We had the peach cobbler for dessert which was delicious. We will definitely be going back very soon and bringing friends.

This has to be the most slept on restaurant in all of Sarasota. Absolutely everything we had was fantastic. Three courses for 40.00 and half priced cocktails? (Assuming this is an off season promo)Had a very well made old fashioned, tempura cauliflower, short rib, and a key lime pie. Hats off to the Chef. Not only was the food delicious, but you can tell these people care about the food they are putting out.Micro cilantro when you could have gone cheaper with a longer shelf life, class move. I’m fairly certain the peas in the short rib dish were taken out of their pods 5 minutes before plating. They tasted outrageously fresh and delicious, and I don’t particularly love a pea.The key lime pie was perfect, and obviously made in house. In a world of sad Sysco restaurant “food” finding a kitchen that has such obvious pride in the food they put out was awesome.Service was great, super leisurely pace, parking was stupidly abundant. It was a cocktail kind of night, but the wine list was very reasonable with a decent amount of options available by the glass.I will be back soon, and until then I’m officially your biggest hype man! Thanks for the great meal Chef.

We’ve dined at Marcel’s twice and we love everything about it. We consider ourselves foodies. The food is not only delicious, it’s inventive. The pricing is more than fair. The only criticism is that my husband’s fries were too salty. Marcel’s is now on our restsurant list

Easily one of the top 3 restaurants in Sarasota and one of our favorites. The food and the wine list are inspired and Chef/owner Jeremy is amazing. True Haut Cuisine has arrived in town and it’s called Marcel DW!! We are regulars when we are in town.

From the first interaction to the last goodbye, this is a place of home. The staff has such an appreciation for each other, their restaurant, and their Chef. The food is amazing, both in presentation and taste. The service is swift and courteous, they know how to make you feel not only welcome but part of the family. We ordered the creme brulee and the s'mores tartlet to finish our dinning experience and it only proved how great this place is. Thank you to the whole staff for restoring my faith in the world of customer service, it was an amazing evening.

Last night was our 1st visit...won't be our last. The chef created very inspired dishes. Half price drinks & wine every night 5-7. They have earned a fan! You too will be pleased.

This evening was absolutely fantastic. My friends and I came for savor Sarasota and I have to say it was an amazing meal. The owner came over and checked on us. We were discussing where to go for after dinner cocktails and the server recommended their speakeasy; Pangea. She also kindly offered to get a table set up for us while we pay our tabs. Following, the owner came over and thanked us for dining with them and gave us buy one get one free drink cards for Pangea. Thank you so much for the great service Nella.

We happily decided to go to Marcel for dinner during Savor Sarasota Week. While most restaurants offer a select menu this week (define as you wish), Marcel offers you to choose 3 courses from their regular menu. Perfect start!We ordered: Galician octopus, Snapper ceviche, Scallops with mushrooms and truffle- odd and delicious, Snapper on a bed of lobster pieces, followed by dessert of flaming bread pudding and creme brulee.+ food preparation and presentation were very good to excellent - each dish looked delicious upon arrival and prompted us to watch what others had ordered as well+/- ambiance is upscale with a comfortable vibe - servers' denim aprons and t-shirts seem at odds with the formality of white table cloths and silver changes between courses, for example+/- service was mixed - the restaurant manager was super professional and our server should watch her and learn better serving etiquette. Charm goes only so far, but dumping the check while we were still eating shouts no-frills diner. By the way, many tables were empty so it wasn't because he needed to flip the table.All in all, we enjoyed the dinner and evening. Yes, we can recommend Marcel.By the way, if you're a fan of Pangea Alchemy Lab (their speakeasy with sorta hidden alley access behind the restaurant), then you know their drinks are excellent!

Delectable and Eclectic comes to mind when dining at this wonderful restaurant! The food choices are deliciously different, and the flavors are outstanding. My friends and I ordered a few items so we could share. Highly recommend: Baby leaf greens, Mortadella Toast, Octopus, Cacio e Pepe, OMG so delish, Vegetarian Meatballs, and Chicken Paillard. For dessert, we shared the Banana Walnut Bread Pudding, so decadent:-)A big thank you to the gracious and affable staff, our fun and knowledgeable server Chris, the owner Jeremy and general manager Caitlyn. Such a lovely dining experience. We will be back.

Delicious dining! A very differentiated even somewhat eclectic French influenced menu. The overall experience is the closest to European dining you can enjoy in downtown Sarasota. The chef still prepares the dishes from individual ingredients instead of relying on preprepared components. The flavors are carefully composed, the presentation is pleasing to the eye and the appetizers and mains we sampled - Brussels sprouts lyonnaise, beets, Moules frites, salmon, snapper, scallops, hanger steak - were all excellent!! We were lucky and also got to enjoy the house prepared special desert -of the day tiramisu. The whole team takes personal pride in making sure you have an enjoyable dining experience and evening, what a treat!
